HAVA had less to do with helping the disabled voter and
more to do with helping to privatize the conduct of U.S. elections while at the same time increasing profit for a select few partisan voting systems venders.
HAVA provided a windfall of tax dollars to these select few
voting systems venders.

Hussein as a justification to go to war with Iraq in 2003.
The July/August 2008 issue of TIKKUN magazine on page 14, under "CurrentThinking" / "Iran", has an editorial that thoughtfully explores the dilemma
that would result from the U.S. entering into a war against Iran. Hopefully, this new war can be avoided. As spiritual progressives, we need to speak out in support of peace and diplomacy, not war and destruction.

Hundreds of thousands of voters will go to the polls in November and find that their names have been removed from the voter registration list, and they will not be allowed to vote. If you are given a provisional ballot, it most likely will not be counted, but you will never know for sure.
It is especially important for college students who are a part of the recent growth in numbers of newly registered voters, to verify that their registration is valid. College students, minorities, and senior citizens nationwide are the targets of many of the purging lists.
As spiritual progressives, if we want to vote for peace, generosity and a sustainable world, hopefully we all checked before October 20 to make sure that we were still registered. (October 20 was the voter registration deadline in California.)

The "War Against Iraq" must be ended.
November 2008 could still see a U.S. attack on Iran. As the presidential election draws near, many fear that an attack might be launched to affect election results. We must continue to speak out for peace and diplomacy.
If we want our vote to count in 2008 then Election Integrity needs our continued efforts.

The 2004 presidential election in Ohio, the state that decided the election, was rigged.
Richard Hayes Phillips,
Ph.D., began investigating the Ohio election when he received an unsolicited
e-mail containing obviously erroneous
election results from
Cleveland. He quicky found that hundreds of votes in certain precincts had inexplicably shifted from John Kerry to other presidential candidates. This made him a witness to a crime, with a duty to investigate further and
to present his findings publicly.
We should continue to voice our support for peace and diplomacy as national goals and continue to protest this war based on lies.
The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, has said that impeachment of the president is off the table. New events may soon bring them back on the table. For all who value peace and generosity, impeachment may be necessary.
